ENTRY SECTIONS

1) Female, calf, born Dec.01/07 to Feb 28/08.
2)

 Female, calf, born Sep 01/07 to Nov 30/07.

3) Female, junior yearling, born Mar 01/07 to Aug 31/07.
4) Female, senior yearling, born Sep 01/06 to Feb 28/07.
5) Female, 2 year old, born Sep 01/05 to Aug 31/06. In milk or dry or not yet calved for the first time.
6) Female, 3 year old, born Sep 01/04 to Aug 31/05, in milk or dry. If dry, must be within approximately 8 weeks of calving.
7) Female, 4 year old, born Sep 01/03 to Aug 31/04, in milk or dry. If dry, must be within approximately 8 weeks of calving.
8) Female, 5 year old, born Sep 01/02 to Aug 31/03, in milk or dry. If dry, must be within approximately 8 weeks of calving.
9) Female, mature cow, born prior to Sep 01/02 in milk or dry. If dry, must be within approximately 8 weeks of calving.
10) Best Udder Class - Judge shall designate the best 3 udders in classes 6, 7, 8 and 9. These designated exhibits shall compete for first, second and third best udders in the show. Prize money to be paid on first, second and third placings.
11) Breeder’s Herd (bred and owned by exhibitor). Group of 3 animals. Each animal must have been exhibited in one of the classes for single animals. The registration certificate for each respective animal must show the exhibitor as the 'breeder' and as 'owner', either as an individual or in partnership (i.e. joint ownership). All the animals must be from one farm or breeding unit.
   

RULES FOR ALL CATTLE SHOWS

In order to publish the catalogue, entries must be in the hands of the Secretary  by August 18, 2008.
  Entry fees:  If entered before the closing date of August 18, 2008, the entry fee will be 15% of prize money awarded.  If entered after the closing date, the entry fee will be 20% of prize money awarded.
A) General rules and regulations of the Russell Agricultural Society and Federal Dairy Cattle Classifications will apply to all exhibitors.
B) All exhibitors winning more than $7.00 (seven dollars) in prize money will have $7.00 (seven dollars) deducted for a 2009 Russell Agricultural Society membership.
C) All entries must be registered in the name of the exhibitor on or before the closing date of entries.
D) Each exhibitor may show a maximum of 10 animals plus 2 4-H calves.
E) A Premier Breeder Rosette will be awarded to the individual or partnership winning the greatest number of points with calculations made on the following basis:
  • Senior Females - 1st, 20; 2nd, 18; 3rd, 16; 4th, 14; 5th, 12.
  • Junior Females - 1st, 10; 2nd, 9; 3rd, 8; 4th, 7; 5th, 6.
F) A Premier Exhibitor Rosette will be awarded to the individual or partnership winning the greatest number of points with the calculations made on the same basis as Premier Breeder.
G) Exhibiters of cattle MUST provide proof of liability insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 or entries will be refused.
