Entertainment Galore at the Russell Fair!
Russell, Ontario – August 22, 2007 – Thanks to the efforts of
organizers – Gord Sheldrick, Bert Vedder and Theresa Wever – the 2007
Russell Fair will feature an exciting entertainment line-up.

“This year, we opted for entertainment featuring mostly tribute
artists,” said Gord Sheldrick. The Friday
evening bands will include The Bayou Boys, a tribute to Creedence
Clearwater
Revival, as well as the ever-popular entertainer D.W. James.
“The
Saturday
afternoon entertainment should draw a good crowd with artists paying
tribute to Shakira, Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake. Be sure to catch the
group Gamut on Saturday night for a variety of
rock and
roll classics.”
According to Bert Vedder, “folks attending the Sunday
afternoon entertainment at the Fair are in for a big treat with Nelson
Colt – the lead
singer and lead guitarist of an exciting new show ‘Pure Strait Country’
– a tribute to George Strait.”
The 2007 edition of the Fair also sees the return of the popular Karaoke
Fair Fest Contest and the Amateur Talent Contest.
“Our entertainment is for all age groups and talent levels, plus there’s
big money to be won” said Theresa Wever, whose committee is responsible
for the arena entertainment. “If you are over 25 and you like to perform
Karaoke, then the Russell Fair is the place for you. If you’re a
talented vocalist, instrumentalist, dancer or group, then you’ll want to
participate in the Amateur Talent Contest.”
The Karaoke Fair Fest Contest – to be held between 8:00 and 11:00 p.m.
on Thursday, September 6 – will let you perform your favorite songs and
give you an opportunity to win some prize money. The Amateur Talent
Contest has two age categories – up to 12 years, and 13 to 25 years of
age – but you must pre-register by August 26. The competition will be
held between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 8. For
