Elephant and Animal Show from the Bowmanville Zoo
Please note: Limba the elephant will be leaving the Russell Fair grounds on
Saturday afternoon and she’ll return on Sunday morning. Limba will be
attending the movie premier of Breakaway at the Toronto International Film
Festival. Breakaway is a Hindu movie about a hockey team.

 Limba
is 47 years old, she weighs 9,000 pounds, and she’s an elephant from the
Bowmanville Zoo! Back by popular demand, Limba will be giving rides
throughout the weekend at the Russell Fair.
This year, the Bowmanville Zoo trainers will also present an animal
show, sharing the background on each of the 10 breeds, what they eat and
why they would not be good pets. The animal show will run at 3 pm, 4:30
pm and 7 pm on Friday, at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 3 pm, 4:30 pm, and 7 pm on
the Saturday and Sunday of the Fair, and will feature:
- 1 ringtail lemur
- 2 macaws
- 1 kinkajou
- 1 gibbon
- 1 miniature horse
- 1 lynx
- 2 chinchillas
- 1 pot belly pig
- 1 auodad
- 2 mouflon
