Education Day’s
“Farm Life in the 1850s” will take place on Friday, September 5 in
the arena, under “The Big Tent” and in “The Round Barn”. The day
will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch
break between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The arena will contain two
25’ displays. One display will focus on the home, the day to day
chores required by members of the family in order to stay warm and
put food on the table. The second display will focus on the
farming practices and the challenges our pioneers faced in order
to clear the land, plant crops and raise livestock. Each
presentation is 30-minutes long and they alternate between being
presented in English and French.
