SCARECROW COMPETITION
 
  1st Place $150
  2nd Place $100

RULES
a) Entry forms must be submitted by Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 to Bev McLean, P.O. Box 686, Russell, ON K4R 1E8 or dropped off at 155 Castor Street, Russell.
 
b) Entries must be on display for judging by Wednesday, August 27th and Thursday, August 28th, 2008.
 
c) No entry fee.
 
d) Winner will be advised by phone.
 
e) Open to everyone. Group entries welcome.
 
f) Winner will be invited to bring their scarecrow to be displayed at the Fair.
 
g) Pictures of all other entries will be on display at the Fair.
 
h) Minimum height of scarecrow, 4 feet. Maximum height, 6 feet.
 
i) Scarecrow must include fair dates, September 4 – 7, 2008.
 
j) Scarecrow must promote 150th anniversary of the Russell Fair.
 
k) Scarecrow must be made from recycled material only.
 
l) If not within 50 km. of the town of Russell, entries must be brought to the village of Russell for judging. Display area to be determined.
 
m) Scarecrow must be visible from the road.
 
n) Scarecrow must be able to be moved, i.e. for display at the Fair.
 
o) Entry forms are available by contacting the Fair Secretary at 445-2155 or by entering online just below.
