NATURE OF THE COMPETITION
This competition consists of three equally weighted sections to determine the order of finish based on the total scores achieved in these three sections.

AGE LIMIT
This competition is open to exhibitors from 13 to 19 years of age as of January 1, 2007.

SECTION A: ORAL PRESENTATION
A 10-15 minute presentation is required outlining the farm operation.  This will be followed by 10 minutes of questions from the judges and audience.

SECTION B: DISPLAY AREA
Competitors will be allotted space (approximately 13' x 20') in an agricultural tent to set up a visual display to highlight the farm they represent.  Note: livestock farms will be required to include at least one animal in their display area.

SECTION C: INTERACTION WITH THE PUBLIC
Competitors will be judged at various unspecified intervals during the competition on their ability to communicate with the passing visitors.

In the interest of organizing the best possible event, the Russell Agricultural Society will not necessarily accept the first 10 entry forms. The goal of the Russell Fair is to promote various areas of agriculture and we look at the first 10 different areas proposed.

Expect to fill an area of 13’ x 20’ as one of ten spaces available under a 40’x 80’ tent.  Each competitor will be expected to fill this space so that the space is both informative and aesthetically pleasing to the public. The tent will be set up to encourage viewers to walk through each display before reaching the area where the oral presentations will take place.  Exhibitors are required to provide their own pens for their animals.

Competitors will be displaying on Sunday, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Awards will be presented the same day after the judges’ results have been tabulated.
